RARE Necklace as in Anna Sui (Part 2)

Few days ago I've written an article about a RARE almost unknown: RARE Necklace as in Anna Sui ( http://rareonstardoll.blogspot.it/2018/01/rare-necklace-as-in-anna-sui.html )

As I have written, this RARE is so mysterious I couldn't even find a Dress Up doll with this item and, more important, the real life inspiration.

I want to thank publicly terhi6v, for her great help! She has found a lot of information about our RARE.

-First of all I couldn't find the Dress up doll because Stardoll has deleted it. It was the Dress Up Boho (thanks to the blog http://seenonstardoll.blogspot.it/2008/09/sportmax-outfit-accesories-boho.html for the photo) 

-But, the most interesting information is that terhi6v has found the real life version of our RARE. Stardoll says the RARE is inspired by Anna Sui, but it is more similar to a Sportmax necklace. This outfit appeared on the Fall Winter 2007/2008 Sportmax Milano collection. Our RARE and this accessory are almost the same: black pearls on the neck, feathers (not every color are identical but mostly) and the white supports.

Why has Stardoll credit Anna Sui as an inspiration for this RARE and not mention Sportmax Milano?

This is one of many Stardoll mystery, I guess!

Few days ago I've written a letter to Stardoll, without much expectation about an answer (open the two photos below for a better quality).

Unexpectedly this morning I've received this answer from a really kind Staff girl!

So we have learned a new Stardoll lesson today, hope this post will help other collectors/Stardoll addicted :)

RARE Necklace as in Anna Sui

RAREs are not only clothes. They can be also accessories.
RAREs are not only in suites. They can be also in Beauty Parlor.

Not everyone knows it, but as I have luckily discovered years and years ago, you can find RAREs also in Beauty Parlor.
These RAREs are more hidden and consequently hardest to find.
I write in the plural but I must be honest with you: at the moment I know only one RARE item you can find in Beauty Parlor (and I'm really happy to say I own it!).
I'm talking about RARE Necklace as in Anna Sui (I know, it's an ugly name, but is Stardoll fault!).

The photos are really ugly, forgive me.
As you can see is a feathers necklace. Black pearls on the neck, the white things are something like hooks used to hook (sorry but it's difficult to explain!) the blue, light blue, pink and two different brown with different lenght feathers that are used to create an ethnic necklace.




The feathers give to the necklace a lot of volume and they shroud completely the neck.
The feathers are not really well made and you can see not a great job is done on the white supports.
I think it's an old piece and I can't find a Dress Up doll with this item.








An other interesting thing is that doesn't appear the Shop on the label, so we can hypothesise it was realeased in a Shop that is not in Starplaza anymore.
The current value is Starcoins and this is the reason is difficult to find in Starbazaar.







You can use it as a necklace (but be careful with your chin, the RARE could cover it!)

But also as a bracelet

What about the real life version? I think Stardoll hadn't took inspiration from a particular Anna Sui Fashion Show. I've checked every Collection from 2000 to 2010 and I haven't found something that completely match our RARE.
But I can hypothesise, again.

Anna Sui has proposed various ethnic collections, expecially with Indian American inspirations.
I suggest you to take a look to the Anna Sui Spring Summer 2005 Collection, published by Vogue ( https://www.vogue.com/fashion-shows/spring-2005-ready-to-wear/anna-sui/slideshow/collection ). Maybe Stardoll took inspiration from this collection. What do you think?
I'll show you some details that have convinced me, expecially the first one.

RARE on Stardoll Feat. FedericoMosi

I love people who think out of the box, who reinterpret in their own way fashion, in this case the difficult RARE transparent coat.
Here we are one of them.

His name is Federico and his doll is called FedericoMosi (http://www.stardoll.com/en/user/?id=410221561 ).
For this outfit he used: Queens Jacket (tingeling), Rio Skirt (Rio) and Off white Inspired Silk Heels (Off-White Tribute, you can find them in Starplaza).

Federico is a young boy really talented!
I leave down below some of his works but I suggest you to visit him and keep an eye on him, I'm sure he will improve more and more again.

RARE dragon dress

Not everyone loves old graphic clothes. They are unrealistic, sometimes don't fit good on dolls, have sharp shapes, not great color changing, bad shadows and are too much basic.

Fortunately Stardoll has released also RAREs with new graphic, more realistic and fashionable.
Today we'll talk about RARE dragon dress.

You can find it in the Dress Up doll Katarina Witt, figure skater and two times Olympic Gold medalist for Germany  ( http://www.stardoll.com/en/dolls/746/Katarina_Witt.html?dsearch ).

This RARE is not very wanted. If you see it in a superficial way it doesn't seem to have noteworthy pecularity, nothing able to make you exlaim "WOW! I WANT IT IN MY CLOSET!"















But I invite you to watch it in depth, more closely.

What do you think now? There is more interesting cues than before?
Watch the large, high belt on the waist, the two vertical sewings and the draped skirt. Focus your attention on the fantastic black drawing. Personally, I think is really well done. The "Dragon" that gives the name to this RARE is actually a beautiful female demon, with a long-limbed naked body, a pair of horns and a big bat wing. I suggest you to open the photo and you'll appreciate more this fantastic work Stardoll done.

Stardoll released this RARE for the first time  in the shop RIO. Why have I wrote for the first time? Because Stardoll inexplicably decided to release it again on February 2012 in the shop Archive, something like the actual Callie's Picks. Maybe this is one of the reasons RARE dragon dress is less wanted than other RAREs.
In Archive was released for a little price: only 7 Stardollars. This is maybe another reason this RARE is considered as a second category RARE. Almost everyone, Superstar and not, had bought it and his value poured down in a short time.

What about the real dress? Stardoll took inspiration from the Balmain Fall Winter 2007/08 Fashion Show.
In general the Stardoll version is similar to the real one: same lenght (a mini dress), same three-quarter sleeves, same high belt and round collar. But what about our highlight, the dragon? Stardoll dragon is drawing, the real dragon is a sequin silver dragon, not extraordinary, in my opinion.






But I've not done for today
I've found an other interesting photo about Balmain dragon dress, from another angulation.







You can see the famous and loved Italian journalist Anna Dello Russo, creative consultant and editor-at-large for VOGUE Japan worn the dress during a party. The dress has a beautiful open back and a zip.
Tell the truth to yourself, you have dreamt to know how Stardoll clothes fit back at least once in your life, haven't you?













So we have done for today, I hope to have contributed to revalue this RARE because is really interesting, the only fault is attributable to Stardoll and their questionable choices.

TWIGGY SECTION: 1st Episode, RARE Inspired by See by Chloé (Jacket)

I'm very excited because today I want to introduce you the masterpiece of this blog restyling: the TWIGGY SECTION.

I consider myself one of the greatest fan and Twiggy addicted in Stardoll. I am the proud owner of all the fantastic clothes released in Starplaza you can find in the Twiggy Dress Up ( http://www.stardoll.com/en/dolls/723/Twiggy.html?dsearch ).
Maybe not everyone knows also that the Dress Up doll Twiggy is the greates source of RAREs. Five clothes in Twiggy's dress up are RAREs. So I've decided to talk about them inside of this particular section, which will be proposed again in other articles I'll post soon in the future weeks.

I would like to start from one of my favourite RARE of all time: RARE Inspired by See by Chloé (Jacket).

It is a cream elegant jacket, with three-quarter slaves, three golden buttons on the top and a nice neck.
It's an old graphic RARE, maybe dated 2007; it is interesting the way they tried to draw realistic shadows (I remember you that in old graphic clothes usually you don't see such a great work on shadows, always too dark or even absent).
It is a really versatile piece and I personally like the fact is open and not buttoned up, in that way you can see there is something under the jacket and the outfit would be fuller.
RARE Inspired by See by Chloé is today marked as a Pretty n' Love item, but as the oldest users know, the original name of this shop was Pretty n' Pink. The current value is Starcoins, for this reason is really hard to find it in Starbazaar and is very wanted.

What about the real jacket?
This time Stardoll has semplified my work because the name suggest you can find the real life inspiration jacket in one of the past See by Chloé Fashion Shows.
In particular they probably have fallen in love for the Fall/Winter 2007/2008 collection. I'm pretty sure they lose their mind for this collection because a lot of clothes in the Twiggy Dress Up (RARE and not) are from it.
Here I show a comparison between how it fit on a doll and in real life.
I think they have done a great work on it, the two coats are really similar.
As you can see the French fashion house suggest to use a two-colored shirt with a round collar so retrò, shorts, thighs and ballerinas. As I said before, I think you could make a lot of different combination, this jacket is really versatile and you can use it to create different kind of styles.

RARE transparent Coat

Here we are guys with the first article!


Let's talk about one of the oldest and rarest RARE (), and also one of the most wanted and really singular: RARE transparent coat.

RARE transparent coat is a mid-length coat with a nice belt and neck, buttons, rolled sleeves, pockets and a "breast-pocket" on the right. Not bad for a piece drawn in old graphic (maybe 2008).
Its peculiarity is the color: it may seems light blue/lilac but if you put it on your doll you realize is actually transparent as Stardoll promise. If you think that wear it just like this it's too much for you, don't worry, I'll show you that also in real life is not worn as a single dress.

This RARE made his first appearance in the Dress Up, worn by the Desperate Houswife Nicolette Sheridan (http://www.stardoll.com/en/dolls/547/Nicolette_Sheridan.html?dsearch). As you can see, the coat is so transparent and the lingerie is visible.
RARE transparent coat was released from the store It Girls (I think it was Stardoll in the origin, but I ask for eventually corrections from oldest members!) in Starplaza, the current value is Stardollars, so maybe if you are really lucky, and willing to spend a bit, you can find it in Starbazaar.



As I promised, now I'll show you the real version of this fantastic RARE. It has been really hard to find something similar to this RARE.
Maybe Stardoll took inspiration from the Spring/Summer 2009, Dolce&Gabbana collection, worn by the famous Polish model Magdalena Frackowiak.
The two Italian stylists suggest to use a mini dress and fishnet stockings, with black accessories (clutch and plateau sandals) and a stylish foulard (scarf).
The D&G coat version has more deteiled sewings.









PS If you visit the Dress Up doll Nicolette Sheridan you'll see Stardoll made an other version of this coat. It's in brown and not available in the game.

BLOG RESTYLING

Dear followers and occasional readers, has been a long time since I've founded this blog!

My intent was to create a place where every Stardoll member could find informations about RARE clothes.

I'm La_RuGBiSTa, a RAREs collector since 2010, the year I joined Stardoll.

Unfortunately in 8 years my RARE collection is not complete, because nowadays is really hard to find old clothes for an affordable price, you know.

After years I've decided to start using the blog again, but this time I'd like to publish every RARE individually (or republish, in case I've already write about it). I'd like to show you not only the Stardoll version of every RARE but also the corresponding real life clothes, with a description. I think it will be more interesting.

I've decide not to delete the old posts, for the moment. 

I'm sorry for my English, I promise I'll improve :)
